Chairs
Our
chair designs combine comfort, beauty, and durability. Unlike most
factory-made chairs, we use true mortise and tenon joinery to craft a chair
that will last decades. Carefully planned curves and angles are not only
graceful, but also provide excellent support. Meticulously selected woods and
hand rubbed finishes make these chairs as attractive as they are
functional. "Lifetime" cold-cured foam and cotton batting on upholstered
seats offer long life as well as exceptional comfort.
Cantilevered Chair—40"H x 18"W
x21"D. Santos mahogany. This design uses
cantilever construction to stay upright with only two legs. The
back and the carved solid wood seat are both curved for comfort.

Dining Chair with Leather Upholstered Seats—39"H
x 18 1/2"W x 21"D. Jatoba (Brazilian Cherry) with
cocobolo slats. Subtle curves and dramatic figure in both of the
component woods make these chairs an instant topic of conversation. |
Cantilevered Armchair—40"H x 22"W
x21"D. Jatoba. An armchair version of our cantilevered
chair. Wide, comfortable arms are secured with curved supports
joined into the legs.

Tall Chair with Upholstered Seat—39"H
x 19"W x 20"D. Solid cherry with bubinga and ebony inlays, this
chair combines formal and casual design elements. The legs are
tapered, and the back as well as the rear legs are angled to provide
comfort and stability. The four back slats are mortised into rails
which are gently curved to comfortably support the occupant. Four
stretchers below the seat add structural integrity. Finished with a
durable, hand-rubbed varnish. |

| Small Chair with Contoured Seat—35 1/2"H x 17 1/2"W x 19 1/2"D. Solid cherry with maple and bubinga
inlays. The two inlaid back slats curve to match the curved back
rails. The solid cherry seat is contoured, making for an
exceptionally comfortable chair. Finished in a hand-rubbed,
polymerized linseed oil, this piece will continue to darken and
develop the rich patina which makes cherry a favorite wood for
fine furniture. |

sturdy chair epitomizes the functional and angular
style of the arts and crafts movement. The wide back slats, angled for comfort, show off the dramatic figure of the myrtle.
